Ingredient List:

For the corn dogs:

  • 2 packages Impossible Beef ground beef
  • 1 pepper jack cheese block (I used Yummy brand)

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup corn starch
  • 1 cup oil for frying
  • several wooden skewers

Recipe created for Cedar Market by: @Foodkidsandsleep

Cooking Instructions

Cut your pepper jack into cheese stick sized batons (lazy option: just use regular cheese sticks). Slide cheese stick onto a skewer through the center until it’s all the way through.

On a sheet pan, add cling wrap or parchment paper and smash your meat into a rectangle (just wider than your cheese is long).

Lay the cheese on top, then pull the parchment/cling wrap up, to roll and fold around cheese stick. Once sealed, cut the beef and press it tight with your hands. Repeat process with the remaining batons.

Once all cheese sticks are covered with beef, roll them in corn starch and brush with egg wash.

Add your corn flakes and panko to a deep dish, and then coat each corn dogs. Once they’re all coated, add to a pan with hot oil and fry for 2 minutes per side.

Serve with the gochujang ketchup and mayonnaise. Bite & enjoy!

For the gochujang ketchup

  • 2 tbsp gochujang (I used ofood)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
